iPad Black Friday deals 2021 header for TechRadar

Black Friday iPad deals are fast encroaching. In fact, while we’re just under a month away from the big day itself we’re already starting to see retailers offering up some tempting discounts. We’ve got all the latest details just down below – including what to expect over the following weeks.

We know that the majority of the Black Friday deals will launch on the day itself – that’s November 26, by the way. But with competition increasing massively over recent years, retailers are starting their sales early to entice wannabe buyers as soon as possible. That means you’ll want to keep at least want to consider these early Black Friday iPad deals from this date onwards.

Don’t fret about checking store pages every single day in the lead-up to Black Friday, though. That’s exactly why we’re here. We’re updating this page with every major discount as they go live on the iPad, Air, Mini or Pro so you’ll be able to find them right here.

That includes both the new iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini 6 as well, which are definitely on the table as they’ve already seen small reductions following release. That said, the best deals are likely to be found on last-generation models. We’ve already seen evidence of that in the recent round of Epic Amazon deals, which featured the latest iPad Air at its cheapest price so far.

As we track cheap iPad deals all year round, we know the difference between a great offer and a dud. Why not bookmark this page and check back again closer to the time so you don’t miss out on any of the Black Friday iPad deals this year. Equally, if you can’t wait until November you don’t have to. We regularly see Black Friday level bargains throughout the year and you’ll find all the latest iPad discounts at the bottom of the page.

Today’s best iPad deals

We’re still a month off from this year’s Black Friday iPad deals proper but things are already starting to heat up at leading retailers in both the US and UK this week. In the US, Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart have all started excellent Black Friday pre-sales already and many more retailers are no doubt set to follow. Retailers in the UK are holding their cards closer to their chests so far, but we’re inbound price cuts any day no doubt.

What’s the case for buying early? Well, popular items like iPads are always in danger of selling out over Black Friday. If you see a price to your liking it’s definitely worth pulling the trigger early to avoid disappointment. We’ve already seen the standard 2021 iPad 10.2 go on back-order at Apple US so it might be wise to think about committing early for example.

Black Friday iPad Deals: FAQ

When will the best Black Friday iPad deals begin in 2021?

November 26th is the official kick-off date for this year’s Black Friday iPad deals but you don’t have to wait until then – we’re already seeing a ton of great price cuts! Best Buy, Walmart, and Amazon have all already started their ‘Holiday deals’ season and that includes plenty of discounts on iPads.

The new iPad Pro in particular is at its lowest ever price right now at Amazon, and the iPad Air 4 is also receiving a healthy discount. The question here is – are the current crop of early Black Friday deals going to be the best prices this year, or will they get better?

Once you know which model you’re after, it’s time to head to the right retailer come the big day. Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy are well known for their Black Friday iPad deals. Walmart and Amazon, in particular, offered up some stunning bargains last year. If you’re shopping for the entry-level 10.2-inch release, you’ll want to head here first.

Currys, Amazon and John Lewis often compete for the best iPad deals over Black Friday if you’re shopping in the UK. We’d head there as your first port of call, but make sure you don’t sleep on Argos, Very, or lesser-known tech retailers such as Box or Laptops Direct either.

Black Friday iPad deals: top tips

When it comes to finding the best Black Friday iPad deal, we’ve got a few top tips to follow to ensure you get the right product for the right price. Read through these in the run-up to the sales so you’re ready to go as soon as that first offer arrives.

Which iPad is best for me?

The latest 2021 Apple iPad 10.2 is a great place to start if you’re looking to get that iOS tablet experience without breaking the bank. It doesn’t have the brightest screen, the slimmest build, or the most powerful processor, but it’s exceptional value and more than enough for most people.

For something a bit more premium, consider the new Apple iPad Air and iPad mini. Both these tablets feature very powerful chips, a lovely squared-off design (very similar to the iPhone 13), and better screens than the standard 10.2 iPad. In short, they’re your mid-range picks – for those who want something a bit special but don’t quite want to fork out the huge amounts for the iPad Pro range.

Speaking of which, if you’ll only settle for the best of the best, the latest 2021 iPad Pro 11 and 12.9-inch tablets offer pretty much the most powerful tablets on the market. They not only look fantastic with their XDR retina displays (amazing for design work and media), but the M1 chip inside affords them near-MacBook levels of power.

Which iPad will have the best deals over Black Friday 2021?

While we don’t yet know exactly what discounts are in store for us on the 2021 range of tablets, we can make a few educated guesses on what the best Black Friday iPad deals will be based on last year’s activity and what’s already happened over the last 12 months.

All in all, we’re recommending you keep your eyes on the iPad Air 4 and the iPad Pro this year. The former is looking likely to drop to a price that might only be $100 / £100 more than a 10.2-inch 2021 device, while the latter (if following the same pattern as 2020) looks set to get some of the best discounts yet.

If you’re drawn towards the newer devices, the good news and that we’re fully expecting discounts on both the latest iPad 10.2 and iPad Mini versions. Both of these devices were given small price cuts in the pre-order phase, so retailers should at least repeat these for Black Friday.

More specifically, then, look for at least $30 off the iPad 10.2 as this was the reduction at Walmart before the device launched. For the iPad Mini, the key price to keep in mind is $459. It was given this $39 discount at Amazon prior to launch. There was nothing similar available in the UK but there should still be an offer or two to be found come November.

You’ll find more information on the prospects of 2021’s Black Friday iPad deals on each model just below.

There were also bigger configurations on sale at Amazon too.

iPad Pro 12.9-inch (128GB, 2020): $999 $934.92 at AmazonThe newest iPad Pro sports a stunning 12.9-inch edge-to-edge Liquid Retina display, and the fastest processor you’ll find in any tablet – and it was $70 less than usual at Amazon. The 128GB configuration is the cheapest version of this device, but if you wanted more storage, there were savings on all versions of Apple’s premium tablet available.

$100 gift card with iPad Pro purchases from AppleIf you prefer to shop with Apple, you could get $100 in a gift card on certain iPad Pro purchases. If you were after something a bit smaller, you can also get $50 gift card when you bought the iPad mini as well.

Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro 12.9-inch:
$329 at AmazonIt was only $20 off, but the Magic Keyboard is a premium accessory for the iPad Pro – it costs more than the standard 2020 iPad after all. This was the first time we’ve seen that $349 price waver (though we’ve since seen more price drops) so if you were looking to use your tablet as a laptop it was worth checking out.

2020 iPad Pro 11-inch – 128GB:
£706.70 at AmazonThe 2020 11-inch iPad Pro was available for £706 at Amazon. That’s a price drop of over £50, and near the lowest price we’d ever seen for this model.

2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch – 128GB:
£895.69 at AmazonThis wasn’t a record low price on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro. We’d seen this price flopping over the last few days, though, so be quick to grab it before it rises again.

£80 gift card with iPad Pro purchases from AppleIf you prefer to shop with Apple, you could also get £80 in a gift card on certain iPad Pro purchases. If you’re after something a bit smaller, you could also get £40 gift card when you buy the iPad Mini.

Apple Pencil 2nd generation:
£103.59 at AmazonIf you’re using an iPad Pro you’ll want to grab the second generation Apple Pencil to make the most of the incredible hand drawing and writing experience on Apple’s most powerful tablet. Discounts on this peripheral are extremely rare, so many made the most of this offer no matter how little the saving.

Apple Smart Keyboard for 12.9-inch iPad Pro:
£187.49 at AmazonThere wasn’t a massive discount on this Apple Smart Keyboard, but it was the first time we’d seen the new iPad Pro accessory taking a price cut.
