In 2021, what are the best laptops to buy?

Our favorite laptop is the Dell XPS 13The new model has a starting price of $930. It’s powered by Intel’s latest 11th-generation processors and has a vibrant display with ultra-thin borders around the edges, allowing Dell to cram a 13-inch screen into what feels like an 11-inch laptop casing. , which achieves an excellent balance of speed and elegance in design.

The 2020 MacBook Air with M1is a favorite Apple laptop of ours. At a typical starting price of $1,000, Apple’s M1 processor brings significantly faster speeds and longer battery life to Apple’s most portable laptop. It beat out the M1-powered MacBook Pro because it’s less expensive and sleeker, with similar performance and configuration options.

If you’re looking for a Chromebook, the Google Pixelbook Gois the best option. It’s more expensive than many Chromebooks, with a typical starting price of $649, and for good reason. It has a quiet and comfortable keyboard, a long battery life, and a 1080p webcam, which is hard to come by even on laptops twice the price.

How to buy a laptop

The most important factors to consider when purchasing a laptop are your budget, screen size, performance, and storage.

You don’t need a more powerful processor like an Intel Core i7 if you’re primarily using your device for web browsing, word processing, spreadsheet management, and video watching. We recommend a laptop with an Intel Core i3 or Intel Core i5 processor and at least 8GB of RAM for general use.

Integrated graphics, rather than standalone graphics processing units (GPU), will be found on the majority of these laptops. For general-purpose laptops, this is sufficient, but those looking for a gaming laptop to use as a video editing machine will need a more powerful GPU.

Chromebooks, on the other hand, are designed to be used primarily with an internet connection, and as a result, they typically have less memory and storage than a typical Windows or Mac laptop.

The most common laptop size is 13 inches, but larger 15-inch laptops and smaller 11-inch laptops are also available.
