The MacBook Air 2019 differs only slightly from the 2018 model it was designed to replace. We wouldn’t recommend buying this MacBook Air deal if you’re only interested in the basic specs. While the entry-level model still only has 128GB of storage space, making it far less valuable than the cheaper 2020 release, you’ll still be able to get a good deal on higher specs when MacBook Air deals become available.

A new third-generation Butterfly keyboard is less likely to have keys stick or become unresponsive, which will help make up for the Magic Keyboard’s absence on the 2020 model. The addition of the MacBook Pro’s True Tone screen to the 2019 MacBook Air’s main selling point over the 2018 model is that it automatically adjusts color temperatures on the screen depending on the ambient light of the room you’re working in.

However, it’s worth noting that if you’re looking at a particularly low renewed price or a clearance sale, you’ll be getting an older Amber Lake processor as well as flash storage rather than the industry standard SSD.

When compared to the 2015 model, you get double the RAM, with all models now including at least 8GB, which, depending on the type of work you’ll be doing with the Air, may be sufficient. The 2018 and 2017 MacBook Air deals, for example, don’t include SSD storage, which is now the industry standard. With these less expensive models, you’ll have to settle for a slower machine – but that shouldn’t be a problem if you’re just looking for a daily runner.
